DOES MY HUSBAND AGREE REGARDING MODESTY?

In answer to this question: "No."  At least not fully.  Let me explain...

My husband has said that he likes the way I look - even in skirts.  I made sure I asked him. If I wear a sundress over jeans or long shorts, he likes that as well. He has no problem with it. I try to dress attractively for him - not in baggy or frumpy or old-fashioned clothing. ( I don't wear the long, baggy 'farmer lady' dresses that look like a tent.  If another lady wears that, then I have to ask - Does your husband really like you in that?  If so, then by all means, joyously wear it.  My husband does not.)

My daughter used to wear skirts with me, but is now 15 (almost 16) and almost no one she is friends with wears them, so she feels very different from them and at this point in life, that can be very difficult.  Neither my husband nor I push the 'skirts' issue because, as I wrote in my other  post, I do not believe the Bible places a specific command on wearing skirts only.

That being said, I will tentatively share that recently there was an issue with some clothing that my husband allowed my daughter to purchase.  I will not share exactly what I mean by that, but I will share that I was both devastated and embarrassed.  After all, I have a blog about  modesty.  What do you do as a wife when your husband makes decisions like that?  You share your concern with him, and then pray.  That is all you can do.  Pray for your family.  Pray for your daughters. Share with your daughters the why of modesty. Share with them the videos and posts of guys and their struggles and thoughts about immodesty.  Ask the Holy Spirit to convict.  It is His job.  We can teach and try to lead, but the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts.

It is not easy, dear friends.  Not one bit.  Yet we musn't lower our own personal standard because each one of us is individually accountable before God for our own choices.  We cannot blame anyone else.  Each one of us, whether old or young, is accountable before God for placing temptation before our brothers.  Each one of us, whether old or young, must take full responsibility for our part in being a stumbling block.  We cannot change another's mind, but we can surely keep our own.
